Duration: 3.5 Hours (Approx)
We start for the east side of the Island with a drive through George Town, the Island’s capital and major financial center. Here you will see Fort George, Hero’s Square, the Legislative Assembly, Tower Clock, and more while you learn about the Caymanian way of life from past to present. We continue along through the coastal residential district of South Sound with its fabulous homes and ocean views. Your tour takes you through to the less populated eastern districts, where you will visit the Blow Holes, which are underwater cave structures near the shore. If the wave and weather conditions are right, you will see pressurized seawater shoot through the top opening of the caves into the air. After a visit at the Blow Holes, our next stop will be the Wreck of the Ten Sails memorial, which was dedicated by Queen Elizabeth II on the 200th anniversary of the event. Here you will learn about Caymanian bravery and the local legend of how we got our tax-free status. Next, we arrive at our final destination, the Cayman Parrot Sanctuary, where you will have a chance to interact with different species of animals, including parrots, agouti, cockatiels, snakes, hermit crabs, guinea pigs, and more. You will also learn about the parrots that they rehabilitate and release into the wild. Each parrot has a different story about why they are at the sanctuary. There is a playground for children and even a zip line for younger children (under 70lbs). Enjoy a complimentary lemon iced tea while we visit, and snacks are also available for purchase.
Insider Tip: Looking for more to do at the end of the tour? Ask your driver to drop you at Camana Bay, where you can have lunch and do a little shopping. You can then make your way back to your hotel on own when ready.
